ALEXIS

* We have received reports that Bulk carrier ALEXIS (IMO:9609158), ran aground off Hydarpasa, Turkey during passage of the Istanbul Strait, on 07 May 2024.

* It is reported that 3 Coastal Safety tugs and a rescue boat have been deployed by the Turkish authorities to assist the vessel.

* The Turkish authorities will demand salvage security or payment from the property interests prior to the vessel's departure from Turkish waters. This demand may be met by the vessel owner to cover ship and cargo, or the demand may be made to both ship and Cargo Interests separately.

* It is therefore possible that General Average may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
